About the Film

Years after taking over the family farm, Samantha Jost and her father George revist the land they both grew up on; remembering the past while confronting their present. Together they have a long overdue conversation about the choices she has made, and the road ahead.

Written and Directed by Brett Eitzen, this deeply personal film explores the themes of life, loss, and unspoken expectations. Samantha is portrayed by Nora Graham; while John Potthast plays George, her father.

Puzzles was shot in the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills and features no artificial light. "We really wanted to challenge ourselves with what was possible using natural light and modifiers. Director of Photography, Alex Schneider, convinced us that this would help ground our story and allow the audience to really connect with the characters," said Director Brett Eitzen.
